About Jesus
Around 2000 years ago a man named Jesus stood before a Roman Governor named Pontius Pilate. Pilate had the power of life and death given to him by the Roman Empire. He asked this man, Jesus (Yeshua in Hebrew), two questions that still echo through history. Every person who has ever been born has to ask and answer these same two important questions. "Who is this man called Jesus? What will I do with this man named Jesus?"At the time Jesus came to Israel, He had already been prophesied many times over. Israel and many other nations as well were looking for a Messiah to be born and rescue the world, making all things right.This man, Jesus, literally fulfilled all the ancient prophecies with His birth, life, and death. Born of a virgin, He lived around 33 years doing good, healing the sick, raising the dead, performing miracles, preaching God's Kingdom, setting people free, and offering hope. But Who was He?A man called John the Baptist called Him "the Lamb that takes away the sins of the world." One of Jesus' followers, Peter, professed that He was "the Christ, the Son of the living God." Jesus, Himself, said He was "the only way to God." He also called Himself "the beginning of all things as well as the end." Many people saw Him die. Over 500 saw Him after He rose from the dead and ascended to the right hand of God almighty.This man did set up a Kingdom, but not as what everyone was looking for. His Kingdom is a Kingdom of the heart. His is a spiritual Kingdom for now until He comes to rule and reign in the flesh for all eternity from His throne.So what will you do with this Man, Jesus? He asks for your heart, your trust, and your affections. Coming to Jesus and giving Him your life is so very simple.First, come to realize you are a sinner. As the Bible says in Romans 3:10, "There is no one righteous, not even one! No one understands, no one seeks God?."Second, we must believe what God says about sin, its consequences, and about His free gift of salvation that He is offering you right now. Romans 6:23 says, "For what one earns from sin is death; but eternal life is what one receives as a free gift from God, in union with the Messiah Yeshua (Jesus), our Lord." John 3:16-17 also says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only and unique Son, so that everyone who trusts in Him may have eternal life, instead of being utterly destroyed. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but rather so that through Him, the world might be saved. Those who trust in Him are not judged; those who do not trust have been judged already, in that they have not trusted in the one who is God's only and unique Son."Third, repent of your sins, ask God's forgiveness. Romans 10:13 says that "everyone who calls upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved." God's Word also says, "Repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand!"Fourth, He wants to come in to your heart and live there forever. If you will simply pray and ask Jesus to come live in your heart, He will send the Holy Spirit to do just that forever. Jesus promises that He will "never leave you nor forsake you" and even be a friend that sticks closer than a brother."Won't you please pray now and consider these two questions. "Who is this man Jesus, and what am I going to do with Him?"Please do us the favor of letting us know of your decision. Kurzwelle hören ist ein Hobby für interessierte Zeitgenossen, die up to date sein wollen. Sie erfahren viel über fremde Länder und sprechen oft verschiedene Sprachen. Das Hobby kann man mit einigen Programmen unterstützen, zum Beispiel einer Frequenzdatenbank.
Kurzwelle hören ist keineswegs langweilig: Das Hören von BC-Stationen (Rundfunksender, Broadcaster), Amateurfunk oder Utilities (kommerzielle Funkstationen) sind nur drei Varianten eines schönen Hobbies.

Ein PSK31-Empfangsprogramm von KC9L, das nur wenig Platz auf dem Bildschirm einnimmt. In nur einer Zeile wird der empfangene Text dargestellt. Weitere Fenster, beispielsweise eine Spektrum- oder Wasserfallanzeige lassen sich ein- und ausblenden. Ein prima Programm, um eine PSK-Frequenz zu überwachen und auf einen Funkfreund zu warten.

Voice Descrambler - Freeware
Wandelt invertierte Sprachinformation zurück in verständliche Sprache. Geben Sie die Frequenz an, an der das Sprachfrequenzband zuvor gespiegelt wurde. Probieren Sie verschiedene Werte aus und hören das Ergebnis. Es hört sich ähnlich an wie ein schlecht abgestimmtes SSB-Signal, dessen Frequenz zu hoch bzw. zu niedrig abgestimmt ist.

ILG-Radio ist die Frequenzdatenbank für BC-Stationen auf der Kurzwelle. Dazu ein Datenbank-Browser für Windows und einen Treiber, um Empfänger oder Funkgerät zu steuern. Kopieren Sie den Inhalt des Verzeichnisses auf Ihre Festplatte, editieren die INI-Dateien und starten GNPDB und RX-Control.
Die zwei Mal im Jahr aktualisierte Frequenzdatenbank gibt es kostenlos und nach Anmeldung bei http://www.ilgradio.de

Oben sehen Sie GNPDB, den Datenbank Browser. Er stellt die ILG-Radio Frequenzdatenbank auf dem Bildschirm dar.

Das ist Rx-Control. Es arbeitet mit GNPDB zusammen und nimmt Informationen (Sender, Frequenz) vom Datenbank-Browser entgegen. Dann steuert Rx-Control Ihr Funkgerät oder den KW-Empfänger via RS232 auf die neue Frequenz! Ändern Sie die Konfigurationsdatei Rxcontrol.ini, um sie an Ihr Empfangsgerät anzupassen. Kopieren Sie die GNPDB.INI in Ihr Windows-Verzeichnis (z. B. C:\Windows).

HCJB to Plant FM Stations in Tsunami-Affected Areas
HCJB World Radio is working with local partners to establish Christian FM stations in two areas of Indonesia affected by last month's quake-tsunami devastation

The ministry that pioneered the world?s first missionary broadcast station is working with local partners to establish Christian FM stations in two areas of Indonesia affected by the Dec. 26 quake-tsunami devastation that inundated coastlines, killing more than 260,000 people and leaving more than 1 million homeless.

HCJB (Heralding Christ Jesus? Blessings) World Radio, which airs the gospel in more than 120 languages and dialects through ministries in more than 100 countries, is working with local partner DiscipleMAKER to put two stations on the air after receiving permission from local officials. The two stations will help disseminate important information to survivors while sharing the gospel message. They are in addition to five others that were being planned for Indonesia this year."I don't have an exact on-air date, but they were given three weeks to go on the air, and I expect they will be broadcasting within two weeks," said John Brewer, director of HCJB World Radio's Southeast Asia sub-region. However, HCJB did report that equipment is being shipped this week from the HCJB World Radio Engineering Center in Elkhart, Ind.In addition, HCJB reports that local people are already in place to run the stations after the ministry recently held three radio-training courses for DiscipleMAKER in Indonesia?each with 15 to 20 students. "The main language on these stations will be Indonesian," Brewer added. The stations will feature programming contextualized for a predominantly Muslim audience, including music, educational information, and news and public service announcements."Airtime will be available to assist the government with communicating relief information to the people," Brewer said. "The disaster resulted in a lack of communication and the need to restore these services, including radio broadcasts. I think this situation has opened the door to allow us to help set up these two Christian radio stations in Muslim areas that might not have allowed us under normal circumstances."Meanwhile, in the town of Kununurra in Western Australia, "The Voice of the Great Southland," HCJB World Radio-Australia's local short-wave station, continues broadcasting programs across the region to encourage survivors."We carried special programming in the early days after the tsunami, and we continue to broadcast information and news," said Asia Pacific DirectorDennis Adams. "We will do more as we assess the ongoing need."HCJB reports that mission leaders continue to assess the situation, looking for ways to best help the people."In each sub-region affected we may need to go into those areas and meet with pastors and church leaders to get a better understanding of how we can assist them practically as well as in the ongoing task of evangelism," Adams said. "Our compassion is strong for the people of God, and we do want to do all we can to encourage them as they rebuild their lives and their ministries.??I believe these are days of unprecedented opportunity, and we need the wisdom of God to know how best to respond."

Die Schweiz im IWF
Die Schweiz wurde am 29. Mai 1992 Mitglied des IWF. Bei ihrem Beitritt übernahm sie die Leitung einer neuen Stimmrechtsgruppe mit sechs weiteren Ländern. Dadurch erhielt die Schweiz einen von 24 Sitzen im Führungsorgan des IWF, dem Exekutivrat. Dies erlaubt ihr heute, aktiv im IWF mitzuwirken und seinen Kurs mitzubestimmen.
Die Schweiz bildet zusammen mit Polen, Aserbaidschan, Kirgistan, Usbekistan, Tadschikistan und Turkmenistan eine Stimmrechtsgruppe. Mit der Aufnahme der damaligen Bundesrepublik Jugoslawien (heute Serbien und Montenegro) im Dezember 2000 wurde die schweizerische Stimmrechtsgruppe durch ein wichtiges Land verstärkt. Heute vereinigt die schweizerische Stimmrechtsgruppe einen Stimmenanteil im IWF von rund 2,85% auf sich, wobei der Stimmenanteil der Schweiz 1,63% beträgt.

Tsunami Relief Workers Appeal for Cargo Planes, Heavy Equipment

Grounds crew load relief supplies onto a Royal Australian Air Force C-130 HerculesTorrential rains and flooding are complicating efforts to reach areas hardest hit by the Asian tsunami. As tens of thousands of relief workers battle the elements, the United Nations is appealing for more transport planes to ferry in the massive amounts of aid needed for survivors. The tsunami death toll is being ranked among the worst natural disasters in modern history.
U.N. emergency relief coordinator Jan Egeland Tuesday reported extraordinary progress in reaching the majority of people affected by the tsunami. At the same time, he spoke of huge obstacles in getting aid to victims, particularly in the remote Aceh region of northern Sumatra.
On day nine of the relief effort, Mr. Egeland said the challenges include building and repairing airstrips to bring in desperately needed supplies. He said the United States, Britain and other countries are being pressed to send more of their largest cargo planes.
Jan Egeland"On top of my wish list today has been these C-17 aircraft, which are some of the biggest military transport aircraft made to go in shuttle with heavy, heavy equipment to Banda Aceh, including heavy earthmoving equipment, which should make it possible to make this one-lane air strip into a real airport that can have much greater capacity," said Mr. Egeland.
Mr. Egeland says there will probably never be an accurate figure of the number of people killed by the tsunami. The current estimate stands at around 150,000, with entire areas on the coast of western Sumatra still unaccounted for.
Mr. Egeland said one reason the world was slow to wake up to the devastation along Sumatra's coast was because the tsunami had hit so hard, there was no one to notify authorities.
"In west Sumatra it was really an explosion, like a wall of concrete, exploding on that coast, and many, many, many villages are gone,? he added. ?It's a very low-lying coastal area, you would have to make it to the mountains, which would be one or two or three miles from coast to be safe."
He compared the levels of death and destruction to the worst natural disaster of modern times.
"The biggest natural disaster recorded in terms of casualties is the 1976 earthquake in China. The official casualty figure of that one was 240,000 dead; some say it might have been higher,? he noted. ?I think it will be very high here as well."
Mr. Egeland says well over $2 billion in aid pledges have been received, in what could be the largest such effort in history. That total should rise in response to the flash appeal Secretary-General Kofi Annan is making during his visit to Indonesia.
But Mr. Egeland, who came under fire last week for describing the donor community as "stingy," said he still worries that the aid for tsunami victims may come from funds that would have otherwise been used for disaster relief in other desperately needy regions of the world.
"It would be the ultimate irony," he said "if we started the year with unprecedented global generosity, and end with no money for those most in need in the forgotten and neglected emergencies in Africa." E-mail this article Printer Friendly

US Helicopters Deliver Supplies to Tsunami Victims in Aceh

Helicopter being unloaded from US Air Force cargo plane in Sri Lanka A combined U.S. civilian and military aid effort in the tsunami-ravaged region of Asia moved into high gear Monday. Helicopters from the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln delivered, and in some cases air dropped, supplies in remote parts of Indonesia's Aceh province.
It took U.S. Navy vessels several days to reach the affected area. But a five-ship task force led by the carrier Abraham Lincoln is now in position off the battered western coastline of Sumatra, which sustained perhaps the worst damage of all from the December 26 earthquake and tsunami.
At a news briefing U.S. Marine Brigadier General John Allen, Asia-Pacific director of the Pentagon's International Security Affairs Bureau, said helicopters from the task force are delivering supplies to remote parts of Aceh province that had not been reached by aid workers thus far.
He described scenes of desperation in the impromptu landing and drop zones, and said a challenge for Navy crewmen has been to avoid injuring civilians who had gone without help for an entire week.
"In some of these areas, there have been days with no contact and no relief," said General Allen. "So there will sometimes appear to be desperation as these helicopters are heard, as they're approaching the L-Z's, the landing zones, and as they're trying to get into the landing zones. And we recognize that, and we will operate that equipment, we will operate those aircraft in every way possible so that there can be no injury to those people."
General Allen said a second Navy task force led by the amphibious assault ship the Bonhomme Richard had entered the Indian Ocean Monday to join in operations off Sumatra. Later in the week that Navy group, carrying 24 helicopters is to move to the eastern coast of Sri Lanka.
General Allen said the biggest cargo planes flown by the U.S. Air Force, C-5 and C-17 aircraft, are delivering supplies to an operations hub at Utapao air based in Thailand.
He said American aircraft had flown in about a half-million kilograms of supplies in one of the largest U.S. military missions in the region since the Vietnam war.
On the civilian side, U.S. Agency for International Development Assistant Administrator James Kunder said 135 officials of the aid agency are now in affected areas, assessing how best to allocate the $350 million in earthquake and tsunami aid pledged by the Bush administration.
Mr. Kunder said a major thrust of the U.S. effort will be to underwrite local clean-up projects. He said the approach, being started with a $10 million program in Sri Lanka, will help revive ruined local economies and help jobless and dislocated people deal with the trauma of the disaster.
"The psycho-social impact of this crisis is grave. People are still disoriented, still stunned by the magnitude of the crisis. And based on our experience in previous crises of this magnitude, it is important to get people back to work," said Mr. Kunder. "And we hope these cash-for work programs will begin to get people back to work and engaged in the clean-up process so they can begin the psycho-social process of restoring their lives."
Mr. Kunder said U.S. relief operations were now underway in all Asian countries affected by the crisis with the exception of Burma, where the government has made no disaster declaration and has not given American or other international assessment teams access to coastal areas.
Geologists say computer modeling of the earthquake and tsunamis suggests that Burma's southern coast should have been hit as hard as southern Thailand, where nearly 5,000 people are believed to have been killed.

EligibilityCompetitors must be military personnel on active duty in the Armed Forces of their respective country with an up-to-date military identity card in accordance with CISM Regulation 4.8.2 (Participation - Species).

Conditions of StayA. During their stay in Austria from 09 - 20 August the missions will be guests of the Austrian MoD. Board and lodging will be provided by the organizer free of charge. The costs for board and lodging for additional personnel travelling with the missions are to be paid by the latter. B. Extra expenses, including laundry, telephone, telegrams, fax, drinks etc., must be paid by the consumer. C. Expenses before 09 August and after 20 August must be covered by the respective mission. D. Additional persons will not be accepted by the organization without explicit written request by the Chief of Delegation of the respective country and under condition of the written agreement of the Chief of the Austrian Delegation.

DressMilitary dress for the official ceremonies especially for the Opening Ceremony and the Price Giving Ceremony is requested.

Anti Doping ControlAnti-doping control will be made in accordance with international and CISM regulations.

Medical TreatmentForeign soldiers who participate in the World Championship may, in case of injury or illness, receive first aid free of charge in military medical institutions. The cost of received first aid in civilian medical institutions or the cost of further treatment, be it in military or civilian institutions, is to be paid back by the home country of the respective individual.

Required ItemsAll teams have to provide the following items: A. National Anthem recorded on tape or CD.B. All purpose country flag approximately 3´*5´ or 0,9 * 1,52 m.C. Flag standard 7ft or 2,10 m in length.

Safety RegulationsThe use of the "AAD" is recommended. Chiefs of Mission have to sign a waiver of their nation's liability for any damage that might occur during the jump.

unsere Bitte um Hilfe beim Aufbau eines Netzwerks in Deutschland zur
Uebernahme und Weiterleitung angebotenen Materials so rasch und so positiv
erfuellt wurde, haben wir (hoffentlich!) wieder ein bisschen Luft und
kommen einen Schritt weiter in der Planung:
Wir ueberlegen, ab Jahresanfang Intermedia/Das Medienmagazin wieder
aufleben zu lassen. Die Konzeption unterscheidet sich allerdings in
einigen Punkten vom ROI-Standard:
- Es wird ein eigener Webspace eingerichtet, die Ausgaben kommen als .MP3
und/oder RealAudio zum Download. Rebroadcaster "Air/Sat/Online" werden zur
Uebernahme kompletter Ausgaben oder einzelner Beitraege eingeladen.
- Wie haeufig und ob nach einem exakten Schema die Ausgaben ins Netz
kommen, haengt von unser Kapazitaet, der Akzeptanz und der Aufbringung der
erforderlichen Geldmittel ab. "Hier geht es nicht um Honorare fuer die
Gestalter, sondern um Studio-, Leitungs- und Lizenzkosten,
Urheberrechtsabgaben u. dgl."
- Die Gestaltung erfolgt nicht primaer nach journalistischen
Gesichtspunkten im Sinne einer optimalen Hoererbetreung (wie bei ROI); es
ist vielmehr vorgesehen, die aktuellen Neuzugaenge zum Audio-Archiv mit
einer knappen Anmoderation anzubieten, wichtige Meldungen weiterzugeben
und allenfalls den Rest der Zeit "oder sogar komplette Ausgaben" mit einem
Remix aus frueheren IM-Programmen zu gestalten.
- Dem entsprechend wird auch die thematische Bandbreite groesser (alles,
was das "Funkwesen" betrifft), wollen wir zwar bei breaking nx oder
Exklusiv-Vereinbarungen tagesaktuell sein, nicht aber nach dem Vorbild des
DX-Telegramms.
- Beitraege von Hoerern, Hobbyfreunden etc. sind natuerlich willkommen -
eine der Zielsetzungen ist ja, das Audio-Archiv auszubauen, das derzeit
auf eigenen Mitschnitten und relativ wenigen Zuspielungen besteht -, eine
Verpflichtung zur Wiedergabe einlangender Beitraege besteht jedoch nicht.
Anregungen und Kommentare von Listenteilnehmern, auch kritische
Bemerkungen, sind willkommen, sofern sie in jenem Umgangston gehalten
sind, der frueher einmal unsere Hobbygemeinschaft ausgezeichnet hat, und
nicht in jenem Jargon, dem wir unser schlechtes Image bei manchen
Rundfunkanstalten verdanken, und der in zunehmendem Mass leider auch in
dieser Liste anzutreffen ist.

CROATIA 1134 Very strong winds with speeds over 220 km/h had caused
damages on two of 4 antenna masts in Zadar. They have damaged base
insulators. Unfortunately power distribution is coming from tx and later
being distributed through one of them. Base insulators are ordered from
RIZ factory which delivered and installed those antenna mast at begining
of this year. We are expecting to start txion during next week with omni
antenna system and two weeks later with directional antenna system as it
was before this storm.
In mean time tx Deanovec 100 kW is tuned from 1125 to 1134 kHz instead,
because our listeners are usually on this freq because 600 kW tx site in
Zadar has better reception in Europe. Waiting for insulators is quicker
way how to start txion again, instead doing complex bypass through mast 1
and tuning one of good antenna mast to receive power of 600 kW with proper
impedance matching. Thanks for your letter.

CZECH REP R Prague may carry its programmes in English and German on
longwave in the future. In answer to a listener's question on Sunday's
Mailbox programme, Radio Prague Dir Miroslav Krupicka said:
"It is not reality at this moment but we are considering going on longwave
in English and German. It's a longwave that is used by a domestic channel
of Czech Radio, Czech Radio 1 - Radiozurnal, which broadcasts on the FM
network and on longwave [270 kHz, 750 kW]. We are in talks with this
station to give us a certain space on longwave in order for us to be heard
beyond the border of the Czech Rep in, say, Germany, Austria and Poland
because longwave travels further than medium wave, for instance, or FM, so
we would be heard in Central and Eastern Europe on longwave quite well.
Of course, this is an addition to SW broadcasting. We are always on SW, we
will stay on SW, but in addition we are looking for tools in order to be
heard both in the Czech Rep and in CeEurope. In the Czech Rep we are
currently on FM in Prague in English, this is a sce for tourists, people
visiting the Czech Rep, businessmen and so on. It's quite appreciated by
the audience from what I have heard. And to expand on longwave would be
quite nice, so we are working on it, but it is not yet reality."

last week I got a permission to operate a MW-transmitter from the German
RegTP (Regulierungsbehoerde fuer Telekommunikation und Post). It will be
used for studies of progagation and testing modern receiving modes.
Some data: Frequency 440 kHz, bandwidth 200 Hz, max. power 9W ERP.
Call DI2AG (the DI-prefixes are for test and research only, therefore this
is no hamradio application). Modes A1A, A1B, F1B, G1B. Location JN59NO.
The permission is valid in 2005. The TX will be operated as a beacon,
QRSS3 prefered, with a text like "DI2AG JN59NO 1W". This will be repeated
in normal CW.
I would be glad to receive your reports like date / time from - to /
report in uV/m or dB below noise or similar / remarks / by e-mail.

Browsing the Telefunken website brought up that they installed a new 100
kW tx at Deutschlandradio's Berlin-Britz site already in summer 2003.
Frequency not mentioned, but this appears to be the new main tx for 990
kHz.
T-Systems ordered new txs for Deutschlandradio sces: For longwave 2 x 500
kW, for mediumwave 1 x 100 kW, 1 x 200 kW, 2 x 800 kW. Delivery and
installation are provided for 2005/2006. No further details given, so one
can only guess about the destinations of the mediumwave equipment. A
single 800 kW is meant for Braunschweig/Koenigslutter of course, and
probably the mention of 2 x 800 kW in fact just describes this very pair
of TRAM400 txs since I have no idea where else 800 kW could be used
[Heusweiler 1422? wb.]. 100 and 200 kW would match the 549 sites
(Nordkirchen and Thurnau-Tannfeld, respectively).

I think the 153 antenna at Donebach has a quite narrow bandwith as well,
also resulting in the muffled-sounding modulation? If so a new tx alone
wouldn't make the facility DRM-ready... ("As well" referring to the
triangular hammock used for 177 during the nineties which had to be
replaced by the main mast again because it's bandwith was insufficient for

Zehlendorf 693 is tonight on with Voice of Russia in DRM simulcast mode. I
can confirm it now at 2210 UT as audible in ordinary AM reception mode.
The program feed is presumably the same than on 603 kHz, but that's
impossible to verify from my location.

INDIA A 20 kW MW Radio Station at Sambalpur has already been upgraded to
100 kW MW Station to provide adequate radio coverage in Sambalpur and
neighbouring districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sonapur, Bolangir and
Bauda. No proposal for setting up of additional AIR Stations has been
received by All India Radio from the Orissa Govt in the recent past.
The existing 50 kW Short Wave Transmitter at Jeypore in Orissa provides
coverage to the entire state of Orissa. Shortwave signals are not prone to
obstruction like hills, hillocks etc.
This information was given by Minister of Information & Broadcasting and
Culture, Shri S. Jaipal Reddy in written reply to a question in Rajya

ISRAEL Here is an update regarding the Israel Radio shortwave situation.
The IBA has ruled that that the Director General did not have the
authority on his own to end shortwave transmission.
At a meeting it was decided to continue SW for one more quarter year
(hence the anomaly of March 31 as the persons involved do not know about
HF frequency schedules). During these weeks the matter of SW transmission
will be referred to a meeting of the Members of the Broadcasting
Authority.
So, SW will continue unchanged for the next 3 months. The two antennas
recently damaged in a storm will be repaired this week. The 2000 UT
transmission on 6280 kHz has been affected and instead of a curtain
antenna at 315 degrees (to Paris, London, New York) it has been on a low
gain Rhombic at 324 degrees (Scandinavia).

LUXEMBOURG Luxembourg DRM on 1440 kHz. Just had a phone call from David
Duckworth in Salisbury to say that he is hearing DRM noise on 1440 kHz
from RTL this morning. Also confirmed here from tune-in at 1030 UTC. Its
quite weak at the moment so not causing too much interference to adjacent
channels, but I suspect this could be a problem when the skywave signal

Olle Alm in Sweden heard tests on 1440 kHz during nightime last week.
This morning I intercepted RTL 1440 with a 2 kHz tone at 0200. At 0205 the
signal switched to digital and this went on until 0220, when there was a 5
min break, apparently without carrier, before the digital signal
continued. No RTL ID, but who else could it be? So it seems the new TRAM
tx is already in place and testing. The worst situation now would be if
the owners decide to fill hitherto unused night hours with DRM.

0200, 0330, and not heard any DRM. Obviously they are still in a testing
stage, but considering their activities on 49 mb I fear the worst for
1440, that is DRM at all times when not needed for AM.

MACEDONIA DRM tests on 810. World record for Digital AM Broadcasting
announced.
International electronics and systems group Thales has announced that a
new world record has been reached in Macedonia for Digital AM
Broadcasting. PE Makedonska Radiodifuzija (MRD), the national public
broadcaster [sic, this is the national tx operator, the country's public
broadcaster is called Makedonska Radio-Televizija (MRT) - BT.] in
collaboration with Thales and Deutsche Welle (DW), succeeded in
transmitting 720 kW mean power in Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) mode from
the mediumwave station Ovce Pole, the highest DRM power ever broadcast by
a single tx, reaching exceptional coverage and quality of reception.
Transmissions were done on 810 kHz with the Thales' S7HP 1200 kW solid-
state mediumwave analogue tx, in operation at Ovce Pole since its
inauguration in June 2002. For the tests, Thales provided front-end
equipment from its Skywave 2000 DRM Digital Product Line.
The necessary measurements of the signal quality and coverage area were
performed by DW using their measurement van and various fixed control and
measurement centers in Europe. Measurements were carried out twice a day:
3 hours during day time -groundwave propagation- and 3 hours during night
time - skywave propagation- while transmitting the program of Macedonian
Radio. The DW measurement van confirmed a coverage area during daylight of
up to 300 km, whereas by night the DW centers recorded reception over
larger areas of Western Europe. The audio quality was excellent and
disturbance free.

Burkina 7230 was a good S7 signal today around 0808 and in "European"
French [without African accent] and seemed a nx programme. I also checked
the one I had been hearing on 7285. This was actually on about 7284.9 and
almost equal in strength to 7230 - just one S point between them. As far
as I could distinguish, the lang was vernacular - DRM hash [of DW 7265]
made it difficult to be entirely sure - so I suspect this is Mali. But
signal strength is better than I have previously heard them on this
frequency.
Could they be using their 100 kW txer here instread of on 9635? There was
no signal on that frequency, but very tentatively I think I could hear
them on 11960. The signal was fair at best and with splatter from TRT

SAUDI ARABIA I was alerted by a dx friend to 17785 around 0945. This
should, of course, be ARS in French. But it was broadcasting in Arabic and
identifying as Bahrain Radio! There was much talk about other Gulf
countries as well as Oman with mx in between. I suspect it was one of the
Gulf "combined" programmes produced by the various broadcasters in that
area. The carrier dropped at 0957 in mid txion. I had time to check KWT,
OMA and UAE but they were not broadcasting it on SW.

Damascus gave me some hard time as I wanted to ID that Sudanese station.
0330 UT I could hear Sudan reading the nx after time pips , when Syria
started having the Quran recitation I manged to get the ID of the Sudanese
station..it was as follows :
"Huna Atbara, Idhaat welayat wady al Neel" - (this is Atbara, the Radio
station of the Nile valley state) they had the nx for about 15 Minutes I
managed to get the ID twice :) first time to hear the ID on that freq as
it's listed as the white Nile radio on WRTH 2004.

comprehensive and clearly-written reception reports each month for one
year from January 1-December 31.
Qualificiations: Monitors will be selected based upon quality of reception

UK The BBC has asked the govt to wait another three years before
deciding when to force listeners to convert to digital radio.
Although digital radio is proving a success, the UK is not yet ready to
switch over, the BBC said yesterday, as it submitted its vision for the
sector to the govt.
The report said setting a switchover date now would be "undesirable", and
would unsettle the radio market and alarm consumers.
"Despite our commitment to digital radio as the replacement technology for
analogue radio, we contend that conditions, namely accessibility,
affordability and take-up, are not yet in place for switchover," the
corporation said.
It suggested a joint industry scheme over the next three years to plot the
migration of the entire UK market to digital.
The BBC believes switchover should not take place until digital radio sces
match those of analogue and plans are in place to ensure no organisation
is left behind. It also wants the govt to support manufacturers of
digital.
The corporation has already hatched a plan to allocate and manage the
radio spectrum, a strategy it believes will "deliver enhancements to all
tiers of digital radio provision".
It wants five blocks of the so-called band III spectrum to be shared out
across the entire industry to allow all BBC and commercial sces to move
over to digital. Details of the report will be shared with Ofcom and the
govt. It reiterates the corporation's belief that digital radio is a
"robust broadcast medium capable of cheap, mass production and integration
into a variety of devices".
The analogue television signal will be switched off between 2008 and 2012.
The govt will announce the timetable and start preparing viewers next
year.
The UK has the world's most developed digital TV market, with more than
50% of 24.5m households receiving a signal through BSkyB, the BBC-backed
Freeview or cable. In contrast, only 4% of households own a digital radio
set.
However, the UK has between 100m and 150m analogue radios, and digital
radios sets cost at least ?50. Listeners would have to invest more than
?1bn to reach the current level of BSkyB's household penetration alone.

VT Communications, part of VT Group plc has signed a significant broadcast
contract with China Radio International (CRI) to deliver nine hours of
daily programming into Southern Africa, Mexico and Brazil, providing CRI
with the network coverage they require for new sces.
VT Communications are able to provide CRI with the additional network
coverage required by utilising its strategic relationships with other
international broadcasters. Under the terms of the agreement VT
Communications will deliver English and Chinese programming into Southern
Africa, English and Portuguese into South America and Spanish programming
into Mexico and Central America [see below, wb.]. CRIs lang programming
will be delivered via satellite to the tx sites.
The award of this one year contract reflects VT Communications commitment
to developing high quality end to end solutions for complex sce delivery
for customers. It also underpins their increasing cooperation with other
international broadcasting partners.
Mr Xia Jixuan, CRIs Deputy Director General speaks highly of the project
and commented: This contract with VTC will ensure stronger, clearer
signals and a better sce for CRIs listeners.

WAVESCAN As you are aware, production of "Wavescan" in the AWR studios
near London in England will be phased out at the end of this year and
production of the new Asian edition of "Wavescan" will be moved to a radio
studio in SNG. The Far Eastern unit of Adventist World Radio has requested
a three month break so that they can adequately prepare for the new
program. They expect to introduce the new Asian edition of "Wavescan" at
the beginning of the new txion period at the end of March, 2005.

Sat Dec 11, opened with sad-sounding Vietnamese vocal mx and ann, the rest
of the program was Vietnamese talk by a man with occasional very brief
questions or comments by a woman. Songs and closing ann at 1227. "Fair
minus" at the start, "fair plus" by close, but not good enough to get an
ID, and mx came through better than voice. Some splash from 15380, so USB
helpful. No mention of radio on their website
This may be Saturday only, as it was first reported heard on Sat Dec 04,
and I did not hear it at 1200 checks on various days Dec 5-10.

I've been doing daily checks for the new clandestine sce broadcasting to
Vietnam via a tx in Uzbekistan, Radio Que Me, at 1200-1230 UT on 15385
kHz, and can confirm that it is only aired on Saturdays. After opening
with a song reminiscent of George Gershwin's "Summertime, when the living
is easy", the ensuing annmt in Vietnamese gives a freq in kiloHertz and
then apparently goes on to mention "satellite" and announce a MHz
frequency. You can hear this for yourself on the Interval Signals Online
website at

2004 Clandestine Activity Survey
During the year 2004 the activity of political clandestine stations
broadcasting on SW has decreased by 28.5 % to 1229 Weekly Broadcasting
Hours (WBHs). This is the lowest level of activity since 1999 and the
second lowest ever since this survey has first been compiled in 1986.
Activity by clandestine stations on the Asian continent has decreased by
35 % or 495 WBHs to now 920 WBHs with the five most active target areas
(countries) all in a declining trend. Clandestine activity to target areas
on the American, African and Oceanian continents has remained more or less
unchanged from last year at 166, 127 and 16 WBHs respectively.
The three most active target areas worldwide remain exactly in the same
ranking as one year ago: Iraq with 332 WBHs (-416 when compared with one
year ago), North Korea with 168 (-49) WBHs and Afghanistan with 165 (-24)
WBHs.
Despite the declining trend that is obvious in all of the figures above,
it should also be noted that the number of different target areas active
worldwide has increased by three to 24. So, the trend towards more
diverse, but also mostly low-budget operations, is apparently still
intact, and has been only temporarily overshadowed by operations on the
Afghanistan/Iraq scenes.

Ships, Planes from Several Nations Deliver Aid to Tsunami Victims

HMAS Kanimbla, an amphibious landing ship being sent to Indonesia An international armada of military ships and planes is rushing to relieve suffering in parts of southern Asia hard-hit by Sunday's earthquake and tsunami. Soldiers and sailors are taking on relief duty.
Naval ships from the United States, Australia, India, and Singapore are steaming to Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. They are carrying supplies, personnel, and construction equipment to areas devastated by the earthquake and killer waves five-days ago.
A member of the U.S. senior military command, General James Conway, says a disaster relief team has been sent to each of these three countries.
"Their task, of course, will be to make immediate assessment as to the nature and the scope of the impact of the disaster," he said.
A U.S. aircraft carrier group of four ships is deploying off the coast of northern Indonesia's Aceh province. Six ships will steam to Sri Lanka. And since Thursday, about two dozen cargo and search-and-rescue planes have been flying missions from a base in Thailand.
Thailand has been designated the hub of the U.S. effort. The head of the Joint U.S. Military Assistance Group, Colonel Jack Dibrell, says the U.S. planes have doubled the capacity of the Thai royal air force. They are airlifting relief supplies to the west coast, where thousands of people have been killed or injured.
"Phase one is primarily to give them [the Thai's] that lift capability and phase two may be, more and more, forces coming in to help them in the rebuilding and assessing where we can best apply the military assets that we have," he said.
Australia sent a navy ship carrying helicopters, construction equipment, and army engineers to Aceh to help reconstruction and relief efforts in devastated communities that have been cut off by damaged roads.
Commander Steve Woodhall aboard the ship Kanimbla says the crew is ready for its task.
"I think it is going to be difficult, but I have got a great team," he said. "They are well-trained and our military skills can be applied to these sort of disaster relief efforts and I am sure once we get these people ashore, we can make a difference."
Singapore is also sending a navy ship to Aceh with food, medical supplies, and bulldozers. Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong says 700 Singaporeans are being deployed and called it unprecedented effort for the nation of five million people.
"We have never done anything on this scale before," he said. "So we are pushing the limits of what we have done."
Relief experts say military fleets, with their large transport capacity, provide valuable support in moving large amounts of aid to devastated regions, and then distributing the aid to isolated populations. The U.S. ships also can produce tens of thousands of liters of badly needed clean water.

TORAH VERSUS GRACE 31.DEZ 2004-2007

Before we can get into the debate of Thorah (law) versus Favor (grace), we need to make sure of the definitions of the two. When I set out to study the subject, I thought that I had a pretty good idea of what Thorah and Favor meant. But, I was mistaken. All that I had heard in the ?Church? was wrong and the uses of the words were not even correct.

Thorah is Hebrew for instruction, precept, teaching, law. It comes from the Hebrew word yarah, which means to flow as water (i.e. to rain), to lay or throw (to shoot); fig. to point out ( as if by aiming the finger), to teach (direct, inform, instruct, lay, show). The Book of Laws, the five books of Mosheh, are also called Thorah.

Favor in the Hebrew is chen (khane), which comes from chanan, which means kindness, favor, to bend or stoop in kindness to an inferior, to bestow, grant or give. The Greek is charis (as in charity). The meaning of the Greek is very close to that of the Hebrew, but since the Greek originates potentially, from a pagan gods name, as well as the English rendering of grace and since the mindset of grace and charity is different than that of favor, I will be using the word favor throughout this study.

Some of the uses in the Testimony and Letters for grace, is the Hebrew word Chesed. Chesed means mercy, kindness and is from the same origin as another Hebrew word, by the same spelling meaning shame, curse, rebuke, reproach.

Here are some examples of these uses, in the Letters.
In Yaaqob [James] 4:6, Yaaqob is quoting Scripture [the Tanak (OT)] and says, "elohiym opposes the proud, but gives favor [chen] to the humble." This is a quote from Mishley [Proverbs] 3:34. Kefa [Peter] 5:5 quotes the same verse.

In Yahudah [Jude] 1:4, " 'for some men have obtained entrance, who from the beginning were registered beforehand under this condemnation, wicked men, who pervert the mercy [chesed] of elohey to shamefullness, and deny him who is the only master elohey and our master, yahusha` hamashiyach.' "

Now that we have the foundation of the two meanings laid, we can then proceed to build. I will be using only Tanak [Old Testament] to begin with. This way we can see the whole subject as it appeared to the early Believers, who only had the Tanak - the Scriptures, available to them; before the gentilizing of the subject by the ?Church?. Then, I will go in and provide verses from the Testimony, Letters and Revelations (NT).

Favor

Let?s begin with Favor [chen], as it applies to YHWH. Shemoth [Exodus] 34, this is at Mountain Siynay, after the golden calf incident. YHWH had directed Mosheh to cut out two new stone tablets, which he did. YHWH then tells Mosheh to present himself up on the mountain, early in the morning, by himself, which he also does. Verses 5-7, " YHWH descended in the nimbus cloud and stood there with him as he called upon the name YHWH. 6 then YHWH passed by in front of him and proclaimed, 'YHWH, YHWH, el, compassionate and favorable, slow to anger, and abounding in kindness and truth; 7 who keeps kindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; yet he will by no means leave the guilty unpunished, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the children and on the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations.' "

Shemoth [Exodus] 33:19, "and he said, 'i will cause all my goodness to pass before you, and i will proclaim the name YHWH before you. and i will favor him whom i favor, and I will have mercy on him whom i have mercy.? ?

Also, Thehillah [Psalm] 103:8-18, " 'YHWH is compassionate and showing favor, slow to anger and great in mercy. he does not strive for eternity, nor will he harbor anger forever. he has not treated us according to our sins, nor repaid us according to our wickedness. for as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward those who fear him. as far as east is from west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. as a father has compassion for his children, so YHWH has compassion for those who fear him. for he knows how we are made; he remembers that we are dust. the days of a man are like the grass; as a flower of the field, so he flourishes. for the wind blows over it, and it is no more. but the mercy of YHWH is from everlasting to everlasting upon those who fear him, and his righteousness to the children of his children, to those who observe his beriyth, and to those who remember his commands to do them.' "

Thehillah [Psalm] 84:11(12), " 'for YHWH is a sun and a shield; YHWH gives favor and honor, he withholds no good matter from those who walk blamelessly.' "

So here we begin to see that all the love, mercy, favor and patience of YHWH is for those who fear Him, observe His beriyth [covenant], walk blamelessly and obey His commands; not for those who do not fear Him and break His beriyth, do not walk in His ways and do not obey Him. This love, mercy, favor and patience is conditional on the relationship.

Favor of YHWH is shown only when the conditions of the beriyth are met. In this case, when a sinner turns from his sins, back to YHWH. YeshaYahu [Isaiah] 30:18-21, " 'therefore YHWH will wait to show you favor. therefore he will be exalted, to have compassion on you. for YHWH is an elohey of justice. blessed are all those who wait for him. for the people will dwell in tsiyon at yerushalayim, you will weep no more. he will show much favor to you at the sound of your cry; when he hears, he will answer you. though YHWH gave you the bread of adversity and water of affliction, your moreh [teacher] will no longer be hidden. but your eyes will see your moreh [teacher], and your ears hear a word behind you saying, "this is the way, walk in it," whenever you turn to the right, or whenever you turn to the left.' " This is a prophecy for Yisrael that is conditional. The verses before and after state that Yisrael was stubborn and did not seek YHWH, they added sin to sin, verse 9, " 'that this is a rebellious people, lying children, children who refuse to hear the thorah of YHWH.' " So YHWH says that He will wait to show them favor. He tells them in verse 15, what must be done to have that favor and compassion, " 'for so says adonay YHWH, qedowsh [set-apart one] of yisrael, "in turning and returning [shubah] and rest you are saved, in stillness and trust is your strength." but you would not,' " Shubah is the same word the the NT calls repent. It is what Yahuchanan the immerser [John the Baptist] cried out to the people, "shub", to turn from your sins and return to YHWH. He does not pour out mercy and favor on the disobedient. It is not His nature, as just and righteous, to favor the rebellious and the disobedient, while they are rebellious and disobedient. The key is in the turning and returning.

In Mishley [Proverbs] 3:1-4, we see a warning to a son, " 'my son, do not forget my thorah, and let your heart watch over my commands; for length of days and long life and shalom [peace] they will add to you. do not let mercy and truth forsake you, bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart, so finding favor and good insight in the eyes of YHWH and man.' " Mishley 13:15, "good understanding gains favor , but the way of those that break faith is hard (does not endure)." Once again the condition for favor is to not forget the Thorah of YHWH, not to break faith with Him and obey His commands.

YHWH is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. He does not change like shifting shadows. Should you disobey and not follow Thorah and continue in that disobedience, He turns His back on you until you turn from your sins, back to YHWH [shubah - repent] and obey Him. If you are walking in His ways then He blesses you. Here is a blessing that Aharon spoke over Yisrael - BeMidbar [Numbers] 6:24-26, " 'YHWH bless you and guard you; YHWH make his face shine upon you, and show favor to you; YHWH lift up his face upon you, and give you shalom [wholeness, completeness, peace].' "

Relationships

To better understand favor, between YHWH and ourselves, we need to view favor between one person and another. Thehillah [Psalm] 37:21, 26, "the wicked one borrows and does not repay, but the righteous one shows favor (is generous) and gives. all the day he (the righteous man) shows favor and lends; and his seed (children) are a blessing." Thehillah 112:5, "good is a man showing favor and lending, who conducts his affairs with justice." Mishley [Proverbs] 14:31, "he who oppresses the poor shows contempt for his maker, but he who honors him shows favor to the needy." Mishley 19:17, "he who shows favor to the poor lends to YHWH, and he rewards him for what he has done." And finally, Mishley 28:8, "he who increases his possessions by interest and profit gathers it for him who shows favor to the poor."

Interestingly enough, these five ?people references? all deal with the generosity in giving to those that need it; giving generously to those that lack. This is how YHWH is. He owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Thehillah [Psalm] 50:10), giver of every good and perfect gift ( Yaaqob [James] 1:17). He is the generous one, showing favor to us who lack. II Corinthians 9: 6-11, " 'remember this, whoever sows sparingly will reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for YHWH loves a joyous giver. and YHWH is able to make all favor overflow toward you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will have plenty for every good work. as it is written, "he has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor, his righteousness endures forever." and he who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, will supply and increase the seed you have sown and increase the fruit (harvest) of your righteousness, you will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous (show favor) on every occasion and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to YHWH.' "

Prayers for favor

Here are some of the prayers that are ascribed to Dawiyd and others, concerning the favor of YHWH. Thehillah [Psalm] 51:3(1), " 'favor me, YHWH, according to your kindness; according to your vast compassion, blot out my transgressions.' " Thehillah 119:58, " 'i have sought your face with all my heart; show me favor according to your word.' " Thehillah 119:132, " 'turn to me and favor me, according to your justice, toward those who love your name.' " Thehillah 57:2(1), " 'favor me, YHWH, favor me. for in you my nefesh (breath/being, soul) takes refuge; and in the shadow of your wings i take refuge, until destruction passes by.' " YeshaYahu [Isaiah] 33:2, " 'YHWH, favor me, for we have longed for you. be their arm every morning, our deliverance also in time of distress.' " And, Thehillah 123:2,3, " 'see, as the eyes of servants look toward the hand of their masters, as the eyes of a female servant look toward the hand of her mistress, so are our eyes toward YHWH, till he favors us. favor us, YHWH, favor us, for we are exceedingly filled with contempt. our nefesh (breath/being, soul) is exceedingly filled with the ridicule from the complacent ones, with the contempt of the arrogant." ' " We cannot live without the favor of YHWH, without His gifts of kindness. That is not life.

Thorah

Now, let?s take a look at Thorah, what Scripture says that Thorah is, and what this instruction from YHWH does for us. Thehillah [Psalm] 78:1, " 'my people, give ear to my thorah; listen to the words of my mouth.' " Mishley [Proverbs] 6:23, " 'for these mitswoth [commands] are a lamp, and this thorah is a light, and the corrections of discipline are the way to life.' " Mishley 7:2, " 'observe my mitswoth [commands] and live, and guard my thorah as the apple of your eye.' " Thehillah 19:8(7), " 'the thorah of YHWH is perfect, reviving the nefesh (breath, soul, being). the testimony of YHWH is trustworthy, making wise the simple.' " And, HaDebariym [Deuteronomy] 32:46,47, "he (mosheh) said to them, 'set your heart on all the words which i declared to you today, so that you may command your children to obey carefully all the words of this thorah. for they are not just empty words for you, they are your life, and by this word you prolong your days on the soil which you pass over the yarden [jordan] to possess.' "

So in these Scriptures we see that the Thorah are the words out of the mouth of YHWH; it is light; should be the apple of our eye; it is perfect, reviving our nefesh; and they are not empty words, but our life. This does not sound like something that was made obsolete by ?grace?, rather it sounds like the Son of YHWH, Yahusha`. He is the word out of the mouth of His Father, He is perfect and has revived our nefesh, He is not empty and void, but our life and He should be the apple of our eye.

Bereshiyth [Genesis] 26:4,5, " 'and i will increase your offspring like the stars of the heavens, and i will give all these lands to your offspring. and in your offspring all the goyiy [gentiles] of the earth will be blessed, because abraham obeyed my voice and observed my observances, my commands, my rules, and my thoroth (plural of thorah).' " Because of Abrahams obedience, we have blessings, if we walk in those same ways.

So why should we obey Thorah? HaDebariym [Deuteronomy] 11:8,9, " 'and you will observe every mitswah [command] which i have commanded you today, so that you will be strong, and will go in, and will possess the land which you are crossing over to possess, and to prolong your days in the land which YHWH swore to give your fathers, to them and their descendants, a land flowing with milk and honey.' " HaDebariym 4:5,6, " 'see i have taught you rules and judgements, as YHWH commanded me, to perform them in the midst of the land which you go to possess. and you will observe and do them, for this is your wisdom and your understanding before the eyes of the peoples who hear all these rules, and they will say, "surely, a wise and understanding people is this great goy [nation]." ' " HaDebariym 6:20-25, " 'when your son asks you in time to come, saying, "what is the meaning of the testimonies, and the rules, and the judgements which YHWH has commanded you?" then you will say to your son, "we were slaves of faraoh in mitsrayim, and YHWH brought us out of mitsrayim with a strong hand, and YHWH sent signs and wonders, great and grievous, upon mitsrayim, upon faraoh, and upon all his beyth, before our eyes. and he brought us out from there, to bring us in, to give us the land of which he swore to our fathers. and YHWH commanded us to do all these rules, to fear YHWH, for our good always, to give us life, as it is today. and it will be righteousness for us when we are careful to do all this command before YHWH, as he has commanded us." ' "

So we should obey Thorah because it provides us with blessings; gives us strength to possess the land; prolong our days; gives us wisdom and understanding that is obvious, even to unbelievers; it is for our good; to give us life; and is righteousness for us. Observing the Thorah of YHWH, His commands, His judgments, His laws, His testimonies is for our benefit, not to wear us down, burden us or make it difficult for us. Just as a parent says to their child, ?Do not touch the fire. Obey me in this and you will be safe?, ?Do not eat or drink this, it is poison and could kill you?, ?These are the foods you eat to help your body grow strong and stay healthy?, YHWH has given us teachings that are to help us, steer us, protect us, bless us, mature us. They are not just for our physical being, but more importantly, our spiritual being. They do not affect just what we do here, in the short span of our existence on this earth, but our future, determining if we get the blessing of spending it with YHWH.

A child may cast off all restraint and become rebellious. Growing up to be a lawbreaker and quite possibly spending time in prison or just in the prison he has made his life to be. Or a child can embrace the teachings that his parents have hopefully set forth for him, those that his society and country place on him, and be a law abiding member of his community and not go to prison. Now I know that some of the rules and laws that are set up by our governments are not just or necessary and sometimes innocent people are imprisoned or executed for crimes they did not commit. My point is that the Thorah (teachings) of YHWH is perfect and just and they are for our benefit, to teach us how to relate to Him, ourselves, others and our environment. They show us a perfect way, the perfect way that Yahusha` came to show us.

Blessings for observance

Here are some Scriptures that show how a man is blessed for observing Thorah. Thehillah [Psalm] 94:12, " 'happy is the man you discipline, YHWH, and teach from your thorah.' " Thehillah 1:2, " 'but his delight is in the thorah of YHWH, and in his thorah he meditates day and night.' " Thehillah 119:1, " 'happy are those whose way is perfect, who walk in the thorah of YHWH.' " Mishley [Proverbs] 1:8,9, " 'shema (hear), my son, the discipline of your father, and do not forsake the thorah of your mother; for they are a garland to favor your head, and chains to adorn your neck.' " YHWH teaches us from His perfect Thorah, we should meditate on it day and night; to walk in it. Notice that the discipline and Thorah, to the son, is not as a yoke or shackles, but as a wreath or crown upon his head and a chain (necklace) about his neck. Thorah is a blessing, not a burden. Mishley [Proverbs] 4:2, " 'for i have given you good instruction, do not forsake my thorah.' "

Keeping Beriyth

These are some of the promises that go along with this beriyth of keeping Thorah. Yahusha` [Joshua] 1:8, " 'do not let this book of the thorah depart from your mouth, but you will meditate on it day and night, so that you may observe to do everything that is written in it. for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will act wisely.' " HaDebariym [Deuteronomy] 30:9,10, " 'and YHWH will make you prosperous in all the work of your hand, in the fruit of your womb, and in the fruit of your livestock, and in the fruit of your soil for YHWH will return to rejoice over you for good as He rejoiced over your fathers, if you obey the voice of YHWH, to observe his commands and his rules which are written in this book of the thorah, if you turn back to YHWH with all your heart and with all your nefesh (breath, being, soul).' " I Dibrey HaYamiym [I Chronicles] 22:12,13, " 'only, may YHWH give you wisdom and understanding, and give you command over yisrael, to keep the thorah of YHWH. then you will prosper, if you are careful to do the rules and judgments which YHWH commanded mosheh concerning yisrael. be strong and courageous, do not fear or be discouraged.' " By observing, doing and meditating on the Thorah, YHWH promises to make us prosperous; give us wisdom and understanding, so that we will act wisely; prosper the fruit of our hands, our wombs, our livestock and our soil. These are tremendous promises that YHWH makes to us, for what? Just for keeping His Thorah, with all our heart (not for show or half-hearted), which is pleasing to Him.

Written on our hearts

Our attitude should be one of pleasure in observing the Thorah of YHWH. Our hearts should desire to do what pleases YHWH. Thehillah [Psalm] 40:8, " 'i have delighted to do your pleasure, YHWH, and your thorah is within my heart.' " YirmeYahu [Jeremiah] 31:33, " 'for this is the beriyth [covenant] i will make with the beyth yisrael after those days,' declares YHWH. 'i will place my thorah in their inward parts, and write it on their hearts. and i will be to them for elohiym, and they will be my people.' " Yechezqel [Ezekiel] 36:26,27, " 'and i will give you a heart restored (this word is chadashah, as in restored, new, repaired, renewed. The same word is used in YirmeYahu 31:31, when YHWH says that He is going to make with us a ?Beriyth Chadashah? ? restored covenant.) and place a ruach [spirit] restored (chadashah) within you. and i will remove the heart of stone from your flesh, and i will give you a heart of flesh, and place my ruach [spirit] within you, and will move you to walk in my rules and guard my judgements and observe them.' " I Melekiym [Kings] 8:57,58, " 'may YHWH be with us as he was with our fathers, may he not leave us or forsake us, to turn our hearts to himself, to walk in all his ways, and to observe his commands and his rules and his judgements, that he commanded our fathers.' "

This heart of stone is not a literal rock where your heart should be, but a heart that has become hardened, calloused, by continued disobedience. ZekarYahu [Zachariah] 7:12, " 'and they made their hearts like flint, rather than hearing the thorah, and the words which YHWH tsabaoth had sent by his ruach [spirit] through the earlier nebiyiym [prophets], and great wrath came from YHWH tsabaoth.' " The people who do not observe the Thorah of YHWH, who turn from His ways, develop a hard, calloused, hardened heart - a heart of stone. The only way to get rid of that, is to turn from your sins to YHWH. Then He will take out the hardened heart and give you a restored one of flesh, kind of like a heart transplant. He then places His ruach within you to move you to walk in His ways and observe His Thorah, to fulfill them. Without this restored heart and His ruach, you will never be able to observe and fulfill His Thorah. A person can never observe and fulfill True Thorah without a renewed heart and the ruach of YHWH.

There is a difference between those that have the Thorah of YHWH in their hearts and those that do not. One example is that of the Thorah helping you to resist temptations and trials. Thehillah [Psalm] 37:31, " 'the thorah of YHWH is in his heart; his footsteps will not slip.' " Mishley [Proverbs] 13:14, "the thorah of the wise is a fountain of life, turning one away from the snares of death." Thehillah 17:4,5, " 'as for the deeds of men, by the words of your lips (remember, the Thorah are the words of the lips of YHWH), i have kept myself from the paths of the lawless. my steps have held fast to your paths, my footsteps have not slipped.' " When Yahusha` was being tempted, in the wilderness, what did He use to stand firm against the temptations of Satan? He used the Thorah. ?It is written.? For every temptation of Satans, Yahusha` used portions of the Thorah to point out what YHWH spoke and required of His people. Ah, but that is the Testimony and I am jumping ahead of myself.

Another example of the difference between those with the Thorah of YHWH in their heart and those that do not, is in their relationship to each other. There will be striving and contention between the two. I have seen this in person, as well as on the forums. One of the biggest sources of contention is the subject of observing Thorah. Mishley [Proverbs] 28:4,5, " 'those who forsake the thorah praise the wicked, but the observers of the thorah contend with them. evil men do not understand judgment, but those who seek YHWH will understand all.' " YeshaYahu [Isaiah] 51:7,8, " 'shema (hear, listen) to me, you who know righteousness, a people with my thorah in their hearts; do not fear the reproach of men, and do not be broken by their insults; for like a garment, a moth will eat them, and like wool, a worm will eat them; but my righteousness is forever, and my salvation for all generations.' "

Not observing Torah

Which leads me to the Scriptures of those that do not keep Thorah. YirmeYahu [Jeremiah] 9:12-16, " 'who is the wise man, who will understand this? who is he to whom the mouth of YHWH speaks, that he may explain it? why has the land perished, and become burned up like a wilderness, with none passing through it?' and YHWH says, ' because they have forsaken my thorah which i placed before them, and they have not obeyed my voice, or walked according to it, but they have walked according to the stubbornness of their own heart and followed after the baaliym, as their fathers taught them.' therefore so said YHWH tsebaoth, elohey of yisrael, 'observe, i am making this people eat wormwood, and i will make them drink poisoned (gall) water. and i will scatter them among the goyiym, that neither they nor their fathers have known, and I will send the sword after them until i have consumed them.' " This is no small matter to YHWH. Not keeping His Thorah is a major offense against Him, with serious repercussions.

Violating Beriyth

What is interesting in this passage, is the statement of having to drink poisoned water. In the thorah, if a man suspected his wife of being adulterous, the kohaniym [priests] made the woman drink bitter water. If she was innocent nothing happened. If she was guilty, he belly would swell and her thigh waste away. Also, when Yisrael sinned by making a golden calf and worshipping it, Mosheh came down from the mountain and chastised them for doing so. The calf was burned up and ground to a powder, mixed with water and Yisrael was made to drink. Idolatry is as adultery in this beriyth with YHWH.

Also, Hoshea 8:1,12, " 'put the shofar to your mouth, like an eagle over (as an enemy swooping) the beyth YHWH [House of YHWH], because they have violated my beriyth [covenant], and they have rebelled against my thorah.' " NechemYahu [Nehemiah] 9:26, " 'but they became disobedient and rebelled against you, and cast your thorah behind their backs, and they killed your nebiyiym [prophets] who had warned them, to bring them back to yourself, and they committed great blasphemies.' " YeshaYahu [Isaiah] 24:5,6, " 'for the earth has been defiled because of its inhabitants, because they have disobeyed the thoroth (plural of Thorah), violated the rules , broke the everlasting beriyth [covenant]. therefore a curse will consume the earth and the guilty inhabitants in it. therefore the inhabitants of the earth will be burned, and few men will be left.' " The earth was cleansed of the wicked once before, in the flood. The earth, like a person, underwent a miqweh of water, for purification of uncleanness. See the study on Miqweh for more Scriptures. The next immersion to cleanse is that of fire. These Scriptures are showing that cleansing, yet because of the intensity of corruption, the fire will totally consume the earth and the wicked, Thorahless inhabitants. Sin is breaking Thorah.

YHWH and Thorah inseparable

Many people feel or have been taught, that they can have a relationship with YHWH and Yahusha` without Thorah; that Thorah is legalism. They do not realize that the relationship with YHWH and Thorah is inseparable. The scripture is quite clear that the man who does not uphold Thorah is a cursed man and a cursed man cannot be in right relationship while he is cursed. HaDebariym 27:26, " 'cursed is the one who does not uphold the words of this thorah to fulfill them.' and all the people will say, "Amen." ' " Mishley [Proverbs] 29:18, " 'without revelation (vision) there is loosening (casting off restraint), the people that observe the thorah are praiseworthy.' " Hoshea 4:6, " 'my people are destroyed for no (nothing) knowledge. you have forgotten knowledge, so I forget you from being a kohen [priest] for me. since you have forgotten the thorah of YHWH, i will also forget your sons.' " What these people have sown in putting the Thorah of YHWH behind their back, they reap in His anger and wrath.

In the beginning of Chabaqquq [Habakkuk], the prophet is crying out to YHWH about the injustices and violence that he has seen, the abundance of the wicked surrounding the righteous. He states in verse 4, "' that is why the thorah is weakened and justice never goes forth. for the wicked hem in the righteous, so that justice comes out twisted.' " When the wicked handle Thorah, it is perverted and distorted, it becomes paralyzed. YeshaYahu 8:20, " 'to the thorah and to the testimony. if they do not speak according to this word, it is because they have no light of dawn.' " These wicked people counsel against the Thorah and as a result, they have no light. They stumble in the darkness and lead others to their dark path. The Thorah is light on the path.

Kohaniym

It was the kohaniym [priests] function to teach the Thorah to the people, to be the guides, the instructors. Instead, they became defiled and perverted the True Thorah, thereby leading others astray. Malakiy [Malachi] 2:6-9, " 'true thorah was in his (Lewiy-Levi) mouth and perversity was not found on his lips. he walked with me in shalom (peace, completeness, wholeness) and straightness and turned many away from iniquity. for the lips of a kohen [priest] should safeguard knowledge and thorah pour forth from his mouth, because he is a malak [messenger] of YHWH tsebaoth. but you have turned from the way, you have caused multitudes to stumble in the thorah, you have corrupted the beriyth [covenant] of the lewiy [Levi],' said YHWH tsebaoth. 'and i therefore will make you repulsive and low before all the people, because you do not observe my ways, and are showing partiality in the thorah.' " Yechezqel [Ezekiel] 22:26, " 'her (yisrael) kohaniym [priests] have done violence to my thorah and they polluted my set apart things. between set apart and common they did not distinguish; between contaminated and purified they did not make known, and they have veiled their eyes from my shabbathoth (plural of shabbath), and i became polluted in the midst of them.' " This is like the blind leading the blind, only the kohaniym had the True Thorah to begin with, they chose to become blind and made the Thorah of no effect and taught the people their perverted version.

Thehillah [Psalm] 119 is an acrostic poem. You cannot see this in the English, but only in the Hebrew. Each group of verses begins with a Hebrew letter of the aleph-bet (alphabet- alpha beta are the first two letters of the Greek alphabet. Aleph bet are the first two letters of the Hebrew alphabet.), in alphabetical order. Within the group of verses of Aleph, every verses first word will begin with the letter aleph, and so on. This acrostic poem is filled with verses about Thorah. I have saved this for last. Since the poem has 176 verses, I have chosen only some of the verses. You should read the poem in its entirety, it is beautiful. It is all about the judgments, laws, commands, ways and Thorah of YHWH.

Thehillah 119, " '1 how happy are those whose way is perfect, who walk in the thorah of YHWH. 7 i will give thanks to you with an upright heart, because of studying your righteous judgments. 11 in my heart i have stored up your word, so that i would not sin against you. 18 remove the veil from my eyes that i may see marvelous things from your thorah. 29 remove from me the way of falsehood, and show me favor through your thorah. 34 give me understanding so that i may cherish your thorah, and observe it with my whole heart. 44 i will always observe your thorah for ever and ever. 51 willful sinners mock me exceedingly, but i do not turn aside from your thorah. 53 rage has seized me because of the wicked who forsake your thorah. 55 In the night, i have remembered your name, YHWH, and i kept your thorah. 61 the cords of the wicked surround me, but i have not forgotten your thorah. 70 their hearts became callused, without feeling; but i have delighted in your thorah. 72 the thorah from your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver pieces. 77 let your mercies come to me, that i may live, for your thorah is my preoccupation. 85 willful sinners dug pits for me, which is not in accordance with your thorah. 92 had your thorah not been my preoccupation, then i would have perished in my affliction. 97 how i love your thorah. all day long it is my conversation. 109 my life is constantly in my hand, but i did not forget your thorah. 113 i hate double minded men, but i love your thorah. 126 it is time for YHWH to act. for they have broken your thorah. 136 streams of water have run down from my eyes, because they did not obey your thorah. 142 your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and your thorah is truth. the pursuers of sinful counsel draw near; they are far from your thorah. 153 see my affliction and release me, for i have not forgotten your thorah. 163 i have hated falsehood and abhorred it; your thorah i have loved. 165 abundant shalom [wholeness, completeness, peace] have they who love your thorah, and for them there is no stumbling block. 174 i crave your salvation, YHWH, and your thorah is my preoccupation.' "

From all the Scriptures in the Tanak, it is obvious that you cannot have favor without observing the Thorah of YHWH, His commands, judgments, rules, testimonies, ordinances and ways. The two go hand in hand and you cannot separate either of them from YHWH. It is His favor that He gives to us and it is His Thorah from His mouth. Anyone who does not listen to, observe, keep, obey, safeguard, meditate, do and take delight in the Thorah of YHWH is a cursed man that has turned their back upon YHWH and His ways. Therefore, He does not pour out His understanding of Thorah, nor His favor upon that person, their eyes will be veiled to His word. When a person turns from their sins to YHWH and walks in His ways, observe His Thorah, then favor and understanding are given.

Now, a person might say, ?That is how it may have been in the ?Old Testament?, but now we have the ?New Testament? and that is no longer the case. We now have ?grace?. Yahusha` fulfilled the Thorah and we don?t have to follow it now.? Let us take a look at the Testimony, Letters and Revelations [NT] and see what testimony it gives in this matter.

Testimony of Yahusha`

First, let us take a look at some of the words out of Yahusha`?s own mouth in this matter. This is the teaching that Yahusha` gave to the people on a mountain. MaththiYahu [Matthew] 5:17-20, " 'do not contrive that i came to annul the thorah or the nebiyiym [prophets]. i did not come to annul but to fulfill. for truthfully, i say to you, till the heavens and the earth go away, not one yod (the smallest letter in the aleph bet looking like an apostrophe) or one tag (a crownlet or ornament on a letter. this is not one of the vowel pointings underneath the letters, but the smallest mark above a letter, looks like a stick.) will go away from the thorah till all will be done. for rightly so, all who breaks one of the least of these mitswoth [commands], and teaches this with the sons of men will be called least in the kingdom of YHWH; however, all who accomplishes this and teaches this, he will be called great in the kingdom of YHWH. for I say to you, that unless your righteousness becomes greater still than that which belongs to the soferiym [scribes, teachers] and the farushiym [pharisees], you will not enter into the kingdom of YHWH.' "

Not annulling, but observing

There are several important points in this passage. First and foremost, Yahusha` is saying that He is not annulling the Thorah. That is not what He came for and that is not what is going to happen. He did not say that because of ?grace? that you no longer have to observe Thorah. He does not even mention that after His death, you would not have to observe Thorah. He makes it very clear, we are to keep Thorah. Second, He tells them not to contrive, devise, fabricate, deceive, or invent that He came to annul Thorah. This is one of the biggest deceptions in the ?church?. Further, He says that the smallest letter or the smallest mark will not pass away before the earth and the heavens do. Now in the book of Revelations, the old heavens and the old earth are destroyed because of sin, in chapter 21. This is after Satan is thrown into the lake of fire, and this is after the Judgment. A new heavens and a new earth are formed and then the wedding of the Lamb. So before that time, Yahusha` says that nothing is removed from the Thorah and the Prophets, NOTHING! He goes on to say that anyone who breaks, even the smallest commandment and teaches others to do so, will be called least in the kingdom. He is demanding that the Thorah be observed and not only observed, but you must teach others to observe it as well. Those that don?t will be called least and those that do observe and teach others to do so, will be called great in His kingdom. But, He doesn?t stop there. He states that we have to have a greater righteousness than did the Farushiym [Pharisees] and the Soferiym [scribes and teachers]. These men were considered the most righteous of all men, by men?s standards. We have to become greater. Many of these men?s righteousness were acts to be seen by men. Ours should be of the heart, whether anyone sees us or not. We have to observe the True Thorah. You may think that this is impossible, that those of Yisrael could not do it, how can anyone today. A Hebrew could not do it then, nor could one now, by themselves. Likewise, a Goy [gentile] who became a Ger [convert] could not fulfill all the Thorah then and could not now, by themselves. Of yourself, no one can. But, this is made possible with the ruach YHWH! Remember YirmeYahu [Jeremiah] 31:31? YHWH will place His ruach within us and the ruach will move us to walk in His ways and follow His thorah and fulfill them.

Yahusha` does not abolish or annul His Fathers Word, but shows us and draws us to the True Thorah. The following verses of MaththiYahu 5, Yahusha` goes on to explain that the mitswah [commandment] not to murder is more than just physically obeying, ?do not murder,? it is a matter of the heart and mind, one of ?do not hate?. It is so much easier to not murder, than it is to not hate. This is the True Thorah. Then He goes on to say that the mitswah is not to commit adultery, but the intent of True Thorah is not to lust after a woman. By lusting after a woman, a man has committed adultery in his heart. Again, the physical abstaining from adultery is great, but YHWH wants your heart to also abstain. Everything Yahusha` taught, was to bring the believer to an understanding that you could observe Thorah physically and yet your heart and mind could be Thorahless; you could be born an Ibriy [Hebrew] and yet live like a Goy [Gentile]; you could be circumcised physically and yet not be circumcised in heart; you could be of the physical line of Abraham and yet your father (by the words of your mouth) could be Satan; you could call on the name of YHWH, but your heart be far from Him. The intent of the Thorah is to point the way to YHWH; and Yahusha`, the Thorah made flesh, the Thorah made manifest, did just that. Yahuchanan [John] 5:36-40, " 'but i have testimony weightier than that of yahuchanan [john], for the works that the father gave me to accomplish, the works that i do bear witness of me, that the father has sent me. and the father who sent me, he bore witness of me. you have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his form. nor does his word dwell in you, because you do not believe the one he sent. you search the scriptures diligently, because you think that by them you possess eternal life. and these are the scriptures that bear witness of me. yet you refuse to come to me in order to possess life.' "

We see another testimony of Yahusha` stating to obey the words that His Father spoke to us. Yahuchanan 14:23,24, "yahusha` said to him, 'if anyone loves me, he will obey my word. and my father will love him and we will come to him and make our home with him. he who does not love me does not obey my words. and the word which you hear is not mine, but of the father who sent me.' " Remember that the Thorah were the words out of the mouth of YHWH. These are the words that Yahusha` also speaks. He does not have His own teaching, but teaches that which His Father taught - the Thorah.

MaththiYahu [Matthew] 15:1-9, "there came to yahusha` farushiym [pharisees] and soferiym [scribes] from yerushalayim and saying to him, 'why do your thalmiydiym [students] break on masoreth [plural of masorah, meaning traditions, (Tradition of the elders-in the Greek text, the Greek word is paradosis, which means transmission of a precept, specifically the oral Jewish traditional law-oral thorah.)] of the elders (post biblical hebrew word meaning elder, old man, scholar, lit. the bearded one-plural)? for they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.' he answered them saying, 'why do you also break the mitswoth [commands] of YHWH for your masoreth? for YHWH has commanded saying, "honor your father and your mother," and , "he who curses father or mother, let him be put to death." but you have a saying, "everyone who says to a father or a mother, 'qarbaniy [my offerings brought to the altar, devoted to YHWH], is that which you received from me.' " and he does not honor his father or his mother; and you have nullified the word of YHWH for the sake of your masoreth [traditions].' " Yahusha` is saying that the Written Thorah is the highest authority. The traditions that they have upheld should not cause the nullifying of the Written Thorah. Yahusha` totally advocated the Written Thorah.

A man came to Yahusha` and called Him, ?Towb Moreh [Good Teacher].? MaththiYahu [Matthew] 19:17, "and he said to him, 'why do you call me good? no one is good except YHWH haechad [the one]. but if you want to enter into life, observe the mitswoth [plural of mitwah, meaning command].' " Again, MaththiYahu 22:34-40, "but the farushiym [pharisees], having heard that he silenced the tstsadukiym [sadducees], assembled, becoming united, and one of them that knew thorah, asked him and then tested Him, 'moreh, which is the highest mistwah [command] in the thorah?' and yahusha` said to him, 'you will love YHWH with all your heart, and with all your nefesh [breath, being], and with all your strength, and with all your mind. this one mitswah is the highest and the first. and the second is similar to her [the ah ending of words is female, as in mitswah, therefore the pronoun used here is her.], you will love your fellow man as yourself. on these two mitswoth [plural of mitwah-command] depend the thorah and the nebiyiym [prophets].' " Yahusha` is not annulling the rest of the Thorah and the Nebiyiym by this statement. He is simply stating, that if you love YHWH with all of your heart, your breath, your strength and your mind, and love your fellowman as yourself, then you would automatically be keeping all the other mitswoth, in following these two.

Observance by Yahusha`

Yahusha` observed His Fathers commands as well. Let?s take a look at the accounts in the Basoroth [good news] and see what He observed.

· MaththiYahu 3:13, Yahusha` goes through a miqweh in the Yarden [Jordan] river. Yahusha` was not doing this as a cleansing of sins, He had not committed any, because He kept His Fathers commands. But, all new kohaniym [priests], when they reach the age of about thirty, which is the age that Yahusha` was (Luke 3:23), go through a miqweh as they are initiated into the kehunnah [priesthood]. This is to cleanse them before they begin ministering. Shemoth [Exodus] 29:4, Wayyiqra [Leviticus] 8:6.
· MaththiYahu 8:2-4, Yahusha` commanded the leper, that He had just healed, to obey Thorah and go and present himself to the kohaniym [priests] to be inspected. Lk. 5:14. Wayyiqra [Leviticus] 13:1-46.
· MaththiYahu 9:20, He wore tsiytsiyt on the corners of His garment. Mt.14:36, Mk. 6:56, Lk. 8:44. The word in the Greek text is kraspedon, meaning fringe or tassel. This is the same as the Hebrew tsiytsiyt, which is required in BeMidbar [Numbers] 15:38-41 and HaDebariym [Deuteronomy] 22:12.
· MaththiYahu 12:1-12, Observed Shabbath. Commanded in Wayyiqra [Leviticus] 23:3, Shemoth [Exodus] 20:8-11.
· MaththiYahu 26:17, Observed Pesach [Passover], Mk. 14:13,16, Lk. 22:13, YN 2:23. Pesach is one of the feasts that are required as an everlasting ordinance, Shemoth [Exodus] 12:14, HaDebariym [Deuteronomy] 16:1-8, Wayyiqra [Leviticus] 23:4-8.
· MaththiYahu 26:17, Observed Chag HaMatstsoth [Feast of Unleavened Bread]. Commanded in HaDebariym 16:1-8, Wayyiqra 23:4-8.
· Mark 14:62, declared and made known His Fathers Name-YHWH. Lk. 22:69, Yahuchanan [John] 17:6,12,26. Decreed in Shemoth [Exodus 3:15, 9:16, YeshaYahu [Isaiah] 42:8, 52:6, YirmeYahu [Jeremiah] 16:21, 23:6, Yechezqel [Ezekiel] 39:7.
· Yahuchanan [John] 7:2, Observed the Chag HaSukkoth [Feast of Tabernacles]. Commanded in Wayyiqra [Leviticus] 23:33-44, HaDebariym [Deuteronomy] 16:13-15.

During Yahusha`?s trial before the Kohaniym [priests], Soferiym [scribes] and the elders of the Yahudiym [Jews], they tried to find a witness against Yahusha` to His breaking Thorah, so they could put Him to death, Mark 14:55. It goes on to say in verse 56, "for many bore false witness against him, but their evidences did not agree." They could find no witnesses to prove that He had broken Thorah, since He had not, so they brought in false witnesses, which didn?t work either. What they ended up condemning Him for was for blasphemy, by their standards, for speaking His Father?s Name - the name of YHWH. But that did not break Thorah, the teaching of His Father. It broke the Masorah - the Tradition of the Elders.

Talmud

The Tradition of the Elders, also known as the Oral Thorah, was first compiled and written down about 200 C.E. (A.D.) and called the Mishnah. It is basically commentary on the Tanak. Later a section called the Gemarah, which is commentary on the commentary, was written and added to the Mishnah. The whole of it came to be called the Talmud, Oral Thorah. There were and are many sects in Judaism with their own beliefs. All hold to the Written Thorah, but some did not and do not accept the Oral Thorah as the Word of YHWH, but rather view it commentary by the Farushiym [Pharisees]. See the study on the Sects of the Yahudiym [Jews], for more information. In this case, the Elders halachah concerning the Ban on the Name of YHWH, was against the very word of YHWH - to proclaim His Name. Therefore, Yahusha` was not guilty of breaking Thorah, rather, He upheld it.

Trial of Yahusha`

It is interesting that the Kohaniym [priests], Soferiym [scribes], Farushiym [Pharisees], Tstsadukiym [Sadducees] and the elders broke their own laws in their trial against Yahusha`. Jewish criminal law and procedure does not allow a trial to be held in the Kohen Gadol?s [High Priest?s] palace. That a case such as this one, could only be held at the Sanhedrin?s regular meeting place. Yet in MaththiYahu [Matthew] 26:57,58, as well as Mark 14:54 and Yahuchanan [John] 18:15, it states that Yahusha` was taken to Qayafa [Caiaphas] the Kohen Gadol [High Priest] and Kepha [Peter] was in the Kohen Gadols courtyard. Luke 22:54,55 says that they led Yahusha` to the house of the Kohen Gadol and Kefa sat in the courtyard.

The next law they broke was that of the hours for such a trial. Such a trial is to be tried during regular court hours, which were from the ending of the morning service, till the time of the meal. Any trial that involved a man?s life must be held in full daylight. No trial could begin in the afternoon and definitely not at night. If a trial was held in the morning, discussions could be allowed to go on all day and sentence pronounced in the evening. But to pronounce a sentence in the evening risked an appeal. MaththiYahu 26:20, states that when evening came Yahusha` sat with the twelve. Now, they go through a meal, He takes them to the Mount of Olives, three of them (Yaaqob [James], Yahuchanan [John] and Kefa [Peter] are taken a little further to pray with Him and He goes even a little futher to pray by Himself. This is when He is arrested. This is well into night, even the 3 thalmiydiym have fallen asleep. Mark 14:17- states this also. Luke and Yahuchanan [John] mention things like lanterns and fires in the courtyard. Now, it is common for roosters to crow, just before dawn. This is what took place just after Kefa [Peter] denied Yahusha` the third time. Then, all the books of Testimony say, that Yahusha` was taken to Pilate, when it was morning. The trial was clearly in the night and not during normal court hours.

Next, you cannot have a trial on Shabbath or Feast days or on the Eves of Shabbethoth or Feast days. Now the Hebrew day begins at evening and ends the next evening. Since the evening had already begun the next day, they were into the Day of Preparation before the Chag Pesach [Passover Feast]. This is why the Jewish leaders would not enter Pilates palace, so they would not be considered unclean and therefore not able to participate in the Pesach (Yahuchanan [John] 18:28). This is also why Yahusha`?s thalmiydiym took down His body. They did not want to leave it up, on the execution stake, on the Shabbath of the Pesach (Yahuchanan 19:42, Luke 23:54, Mark 15:42, MaththiYahu 27:62. A Shabbath is a day of rest on the 7th day of the week. You also have Shabbethoth that occur on a Feast Day or the first and last days of the two week long Feasts, of the Chag HaMatstsoth [Feast of Unleavened Bread] and the Chag HaSukkoth [Feast of Tabernacles]. These Shabbethoth are called High Shabbethoth. This was a High Shabbath for the Chag Pesach [Feast of Passover], on which Yahusha` was tried and executed. This obviously broke the laws of the Jewish leaders.

All the time that the Jewish religious leaders are trying to trip up, trick and catch Yahusha`, in some way of breaking Thorah, they are breaking numerous mitswoth of YHWH and even their own laws. They, the Thorahbreakers, tried and executed an innocent man who upheld Thorah because of their jealousy, pride and arrogance. By Yahusha`?s teaching and example, He upheld Written Thorah. Since we are to live as He did and teach what He taught, we must therefore observe, with all out hearts and minds, Written Thorah. You cannot do this without the ruach YHWH, which YHWH gave to His Son and His Son, Yahusha`, gave to His thalmiydiym [student, disciple]. To be a thalmiyd of Yahusha`, you must follow His ways, which are His Father?s ways. YHWH is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Yahusha` is also the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. They do not change. The True Thorah that YHWH spoke from His mouth, is what He gave to us, to teach us of Him, to draw us to Him. YHWH gave Yahusha`, the True Thorah, to us, to teach us of Him, to point the way to Him, which Yahusha` did. That we would turn and return to the ways of YHWH.

I have not included any of the quotes from the rest of the ?NT?, because some of the Letters from Shaul [Paul] are in contention as to what he is saying. Many believe that he is teaching Thorahlessness. He is not. Part of the problem in understanding the Letters, is the Greek text that the Church chose to use as the base text. There are almost 28,000 Greek manuscripts and fragments of manuscripts that make up the Testimony, Letters and Revelations, and no two of them are identical. Another problem was the corruption of the teachings and letters of Shaul by Marcion, around 140 CE.

I believe the truth is in the earlier accounts of what is called the Good News of the Mixed, Evangelion da-Mechallete (in the Greek ? the Diatessaron). Since, Aramaic and Hebrew, are in the same Semitic family, using the same alefbeth, many of the words are the same, as well as language, style and thought patterns. This is the text that many of the Believers of Yahusha` have been using in the Middle East and the East, since Yahusha`?s execution and resurrection. All of the Testimony verses that I have used in this study, have come from this Aramaic Peshitta. There are differences between the Greek and the Aramaic/Hebrew. Some words do not adequately translate, yet the semiticisms of the Peshitta do reflect more closely those of the Tanak. Since it will take a study of it?s own, to address these other verses on the subject of Thorah versus Favor, I am concluding this one, as being sufficient to stand on it?s own. After all, even if Shaul were making statements contrary to that of Yahusha`'s, the Word of YHWH, Yahusha`?s backing of the Thorah are our Authority, not Shaul. But as you hear what Shaul has to say from the Hebrew perspective and as you read a correct interpretation of his words, you will see that he did not advocate Thorahlessness, but rather upheld it and observed it, also.

I would like to conclude this study with the words, which Yahusha` quoted to HaSatan, at the first temptation in the wilderness, MaththiYahu [Matthew] 4:4, " 'it has been written, "man will not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of YHWH." ' "
